THE SCIENCE
The reports and studies from the world of medicine and academia just don’t stop.
1️⃣ Team sports improve Executive Function

Not this kind of Executive Function…. cognitive stuff 🧠
A study of Dutch kids found that those who participated in team sports consistently showed superior executive function compared with those exclusively engaging in individual sports.
Our findings showed that combining team and individual sports had consistent associations with better EF.
This suggests that children with better EF may engage in multiple sports or that combining sports types may enhance EF more than a single sport.
And to save you from checking what EF actually is - it’s often compared to a management system for the brain that looks after tasks like decision-making and problem-solving. Cognitive skills that enable goal-directed behaviour.
So if you’re a proactive parent, keep at it in 2025. 🙌
